Artist Statement

As a queer artist, activist, and educator with over two decades in Art Education, I intertwine my identities and roles to advocate for equity and diversity.

With a background in Educational Technology Leadership and Studio Art, my commitment to inclusivity goes beyond the canvas—it manifests in every educational space I engage with. Art, to me, is more than a medium; it’s a universal language we’ve all spoken since childhood. I’m here to remind each individual that despite society’s noise and our inner critics, we are natural storytellers and artists. My mission is to liberate the innate creativity within us all, creating not just art, but safe, inclusive spaces where everyone’s voice can be heard and amplified. My advocacy work, particularly within LGBTQIA+ communities in educational settings, serves as a backbone to this mission. Art is the lens through which I view the world, and it’s the tool I offer to those ready to reimagine theirs.
